About Juan:

My new book is dedicated to showcasing the different writing styles that I enjoy. I've loved reading for most of my adult life. In that, I found myself climbing into the world's created by the very talented people that had taken their time to tell their stories. I often found myself thinking of stories that had not been told, and in doing that I wanted to try my hand at putting those stories down for others to, hopefully, enjoy. My world's are different, sometimes loud and angry, but most often I find them theraputic to let out of my head.

Divergent Lives of No Consequence: Short Stories

Short stories that shock, sadden, and anger, but have a place in the world in which we live. The life we want, at times, seems unattainable. Finding out that there are no easy roads, no freebies, and the joy we do find is sometimes in the darkness of our minds. Divergent Lives is about the human condition; people relate to their surroundings---the smells of the world and the underbelly of those places where they exist.

The last story, though, is one of a future utopia. But what happens in a world where one person decides what is and isn't a utopia?

We're All Broken

A children's book about the difficulty of growing up and feeling that everyone else is getting it right and you are lost.

In the life of a child, everything matters. Who chooses you as a friend, what clothes you wear, your school supplies. No matter how small the detail; once you are not included, noticed, or otherwise thought of as "not cool" enough to belong to the in-crowd. Still, children push through. It is important that they are reminded:

"No one has it all figured out, we all have pain and doubt. It just means that we all really do belong together."

My Life in Images:

Much of my life is spent being around my family; it is a great life. But I do have some other things that take my attention.

First, is my dog, Murphy! He is a rescue and he has become my best friend over the last two years.

Second, is grilling and smoking meats. I love trying different recipes, making my own rubs and feeding my family.
